“Mr. English The Dark and The Hooded". “The Hooded, Twisted Lips or English Courses For Ghosts"

(Stories From a Shabby Sea Chest or What I Scribbled In Between English Classes)

“Mr. English The Dark and The Hooded"

...getting yourself comfortable in the manor (in the temporary peeping Tom’s shoes), the land belonging to a nobleman - a snobbish, fervent, aristocratic Mr. English the Dark (Augustina’s heir) and observing its owner - hereditary peer, who splutters the words of caution croakily to the other sulky inhabitants of the menacing place, which undulating candles sparsely scattered here and there are failing to dissolve an overall sullenness

which happens to be quite a contrast to the noiselessly gliding, emerald blue, transparent creatures, embroidering the gloom of the decorations with their shiny blue neon glowing, timidly floating in the air towards the door ajar, passing the grate, upon a fetching command of their mirthless linguistic master; shuddering to disobey and feel his wrath.

“The Hooded, Twisted Lips or English Courses For Ghosts"

...exultantly following the horde of ghosts who are going through the door ajar, with a slight sign of bewilderment under their black hoodies; and you are protruding your head through the open space and trying to have a closer look at what's going on -

the circle is being formed, the circle of raggedly dressed, sitting in a bit stooped position on sparsely scattered stumps, creatures, rustling through the pages of uncanny familiar book, with elegantly swishing moves - oh my goodness - Raymond Murphy, the blue one! demonstrating unthwarted affinity with ancient reviving powers of knowledge.

The ugly distorted hooded writhed faces of the spirits of the dead are incoherently muttering something that sounds like rudimentary concocted stories with some extracts from the notorious “Bible of English Grammar”, muttering that delicately escapes their twisted lips and veritably evokes the desire to explore the mysteries of the language even within the most unghostly pupil.
