‘Make Your Personality Work For You’ part I (Share Your Passion With The Student)

Using creative storytelling as a way of teaching & learning English. How does it work?

The story opens up a student a fact that a teacher has a passion in life, which is music,

“I am a musician and I also enjoy teaching English. Teaching inspires me to write new songs, it also makes me happy. When I see a person learn or discover something new during my classes it brings me back the moment when I was experiencing this myself and I relive it again through the personality, it is very fulfilling.” (from “The Story of My Relationship with English.”)

and that he connects English teaching & learning with this passion which makes lessons dynamic and exciting.

A student gets curious - that there is something inside that motivates a teacher to do it and begins, knowingly or subconsciously (it’s just human nature), the process of trying to find out what it is that motivates their professor and what is the reason behind this motivation.

The story reveals some challenges and hardships that their educator has gone through pursuing his dreams,

“...in other words they should always follow their dreams no matter what, and no matter whoever likes it or not, I've learned from the experience that sometimes even very close people don't believe in you, but it shouldn't stop you from doing what you love and living a life that you want to live.” (from ”...Songs Tell the Stories. “When I was at school or something like that, I was really a shy boy and music gave me a lot of confidence…” (from ”Creativity, Inspiration and Lessons”)

Students start to feel the connection with the teacher because everybody at some point of their lives experienced challenging, dramatic, sad things and their professor is not an exception. Pupils start getting more comfortable and ask themselves: ‘This guy is giving a lot of opinions, he is outspoken, I wonder if…’ and the chaps at the uni desks delve into sharing their opinions too, which is incredible for learning. The first step in creating an invisible line of trust has been made.
