I think one of the best ways to learn the language is to connect it with your passion in life. Because when you connect learning with something that you love you learn the language more enthusiastically and with a great deal of interest.
When I started my English journey I was writing a lot of songs on my acoustic guitar—as a matter of fact I still do—and songwriting helped me with pronunciation - because you sing your songs many times.
It helped me with vocabulary too - because you use new words when you are writing new compositions.
And it helped me with grammar structures - because when you are writing, you try to make sure your creative child is grammatically correct;
It also helped me to gain my confidence - because when you have written your song—your spark of art—obviously you are itching to play it for the audience and being on stage surrounded by the sound of your lyrics in English understandably levitates your confidence into the stratosphere.
So, all in all, songwriting is a very powerful tool to become a good friend with the language.
